Civic Engagement

​FIU Center for Leadership and Service is to provide students with developmental and experiential opportunities that foster leadership, action, and community engagement. Through leadership education, service, and social innovation, students will become active citizens on-campus, in their respective communities, and globally.

  As a co-director and a member of the Panther Community Action Board under the CLS department I assist in the ideation and execution of our university-wide Day of Service event which focuses on human trafficking, climate justice, houselessness, food insecurity, and cancer awareness. I also executed marketing plan to promote opportunities for civic engagement and virtual volunteering opportunities to combat effects of COVID-19. I also reviewed mini grant proposals for community engagement projects and served as an accountability partner for approved grants of up to $1,000
